New iPads are expected to launch in March 2024, according to Gurman.
Apple fans, brace yourselves for some disappointing news. Bloomberg’s very own technology wizard, Mark Gurman, claims that Apple won’t be spoiling us with new iPad models until around March 2024. I know, it feels like an eternity!
In his recent “Power On” newsletter, Gurman spilled the beans on Apple’s plans. He revealed that Apple is diligently working on the 11th-generation iPad, the seventh-generation iPad mini, and the sixth-generation iPad Air. These refreshed devices are expected to make their grand entrance in March next year.
But that’s not all. There’s a juicy cherry on top. Gurman mentioned that a new Apple Pencil with USB-C compatibility is on the horizon. For all you iPad artists and note-takers out there, this is a dream come true. Finally, no more fumbling with adapters or dealing with the limitations of the old Lightning connector. It’s time to embrace the future!
Now, here’s the twist. Gurman also hinted that the first-generation Apple Pencil might be bidding us farewell. It seems that Apple is planning to discontinue this faithful companion alongside the ninth-generation iPad. It makes sense, though, since Apple will no longer be selling iPads with a Lightning connector. But fret not, this change is not expected to happen “anytime soon.” So, you can keep your trusty Apple Pencil by your side for a little longer.
As for the iPad Pro enthusiasts, the next-generation model might still be a possibility, albeit a “more minor” one. The spring seems to be locked down for the release of the revamped iPads, but we’ll have to wait and see if the iPad Pro joins the party.
