It’s safe to say he’s not a fan.

Musk, never one to shy away from a little banter, seemed to take King’s criticism in stride. He responded to the tweet with a laughing emoji and the playful question, “Wanna try it?” Ah, the ever-charming Musk.

Grok, which Musk released over the weekend, is an AI chatbot that is currently only available to a select group. However, once it’s out of its early beta phase, it will be accessible to Premium+ subscribers. The name, of course, reflects Musk’s love for science fiction. Who could’ve guessed?

But let’s get back to King and Musk’s ongoing saga. Their clash didn’t start with Grok. Oh no, this battle has been brewing for a while. King was less than thrilled when Musk decided to charge X users $8 for a blue checkmark on the platform. The author made his disapproval known, and it led to some hilarious haggling between the two.

Now, Elon Musk may have a soft spot for King’s novels, but the feeling doesn’t seem to be mutual. In the past, King has pondered the idea of AI writing fiction, expressing a mix of fascination and dread. However, it appears that Grok has failed to capture his interest.
